1999: Fan website pokefan.de Pokémon was a huge hype back then in 1999 and 2000. Billions of dollars got spent on merchendise products of those little fantasy animals. To me it meant to be in charge of one of the biggest german fan websites of Pokémon. Lots of people visited the site which I created with an online friend, Michal Wendrowski. The media hype was so big, that even a local tv station came to interview me about the site and about Pokémon in general (see at the end of this page).

Technical solution & comment
Oh god... don't ask. Everything built on static pages with a two frame layout. It actually meant a lot of work to do but you have that free time as a 13 and 14 year old ;-). Even though the site was technically not very well built it was still a good experience to learn how to manage a well visited website (~3000 unique visitors a day).

TV documentation
The local tv channel "Tele Ostschweiz" sent a short documentation about the Pokémon hype and also showed my website pokefan.de. The weird language you might not recognize is Swiss German ;-).
